Hilda Balsom December 17, 1945 - January 29, 2024

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, January 29, 2023, Hilda Florence Balsom of Clarenville, age 78 years.  Predeceased by her mother Melita Jane Seaward and guardian grandmother Dinah Ann Seaward.  Left with fond and loving memories her husband of 60 years, Robert Maurice; children Darlene, Rob and Brian; grandchildren, Brittney Robyn Kelly (Balsom)-(Kiefer Kelly) and Christopher Ryan Green; sisters Diane (Lindsay-deceased), Clarenville and Brenda (Ronald), Mount Pearl; and a large circle of family and friends.  Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral service 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville with interment to follow at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital Clarenville for their wonderful care and professionalism. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Daffodil Place, St. John’s.

Life is fragile, handle with prayers.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville with interment to follow at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.

    Robert, Darlene, Rob and Brian. Lost but never forgotten. Hilda was an absolute princess of a lady. She was bright, articulate, forever smiling and had a fantastic memory for details. Pat and I were blessed to spend a few hours with the Balsom family last summer and we simply sat and listed to Hilda disclose a wealth of knowledge in a manner that only she could deliver. She was special beyond all comparisons.
    Hilda—-Pat and I hope that your next stop will bring everlasting calm and fulfillness. May you Rest in Peace now and forever .
