Harold Carberry August 11, 1942 - March 28, 2026

With much sadness, after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 28, 2026, we announce the passing of Harold James Carberry of Burgoyne’s Cove who passed at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville surrounded by his family at the age of 83 years.

Harold was born August 11, 1942, in Southport to Herbert and Alfreda (Lambert) Carberry. Predeceased by his loving parents Herbert and Alfreda (Lambert) Carberry, father and mother-in-law Jubal and Rachel (Sutton) Anderson, brothers in law Robert, Jubal Jr, and John Anderson, sisters in law Elizabeth (Anderson) George, Sandra (Hobbs) Anderson, and Gladys (Walters) Anderson.

Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 61 years, Evelyn (Anderson) Carberry, sons Patrick (Donna), Scott (Dallas), Denise (Chris). Grandchildren Danielle (Eldon), Skylar (Melinda), Gabriel (Nicole), Joshua, Brandon, and Tiara. Great grandchildren Cierra, Jordon, and Preston. Brothers Herbert Jr (Linda), Grenville (Debbie), Calvin (Amilia), Rose (Jimmy), Everett (Minnie), Lewis (Donna), Linda (Alvohn), Sharon (Paul), his aunt Presilla (Carberry) Day. Along with a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Harold’s family would like to give many thanks to all who visited during his illness. As well as the Doctors and nurses at GB Cross Hospital. With special thanks to longtime friends Mike and Irene Myles of Terrenceville.

Visitation to take place at the Anglican Church in Burgoyne’s Cove on Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 7-9 P.M. and Monday, March 30, 2026 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.

Funeral services to be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at St. Mary’s church in Burgoyne’s Cove interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery Burgoyne’s Cove.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burgoyne’s Cove Veterans Association.

    Meeting Harold was a pleasure and he carried a welcoming spirit with him that made one feel comfortable.
    His passing is no doubt a big loss to the family.

    To the carberry family prayers and thoughts are with you all .. harold helped me to get information about my grandpa with some photos want to thank you for harold for helping me . we emailed each other and thank you to his son to for keeping in touch with me . he did alot for his community too and he will be missed by many . he is my friend like family and fly high .

    I knew Harold was unwell but time flew by and like always, we are never ready for bad news. My old friend, I’ve known almost my whole lifetime has departed. One of the best. A friend to all and he’ll be sorely missed. Deepest sympathy to Evelyn and the family.
