Gladys Eunice Stacey December 3, 1945 - August 23, 2021

Gladys Eunice Stacey (Reid) – December 3, 1945, to August 23, 2021.

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, August 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving daughter, Cheryl, who provided ongoing love and support in her final days.

She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Charles Stacey.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters, Sharon Best (Ernie), Southern Harbour, NL; Cheryl Barrett (Roger), St. John’s, NL; Cindy Ingram (Troy), Beaver Bank, NS; and son, Andrew Stacey (Leslie), Beaumont, AB;her special grandson, Steven (Julie), who she raised as her own; grandchildren, Vanessa, Brandon (Kelsey), Liam(Carly), Noah, William, Dylan, Chelsea and James; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Logan.

Gladys was born on December 3, 1945, on Tack’s Beach, Placentia Bay, and was raised by her grandparents, Sarah and Ernest Reid, until their passing.

Gladys was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “nanny”, “grandma” (by Vanessa)and later “great-nanny”. Family was everything to Gladys; she was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin.
Gladys enjoyed reading, crocheting and doing puzzles.
She was a treasured friend to many but especially had a close bond with her long-time friend Wanda. They would watch the stories together and Gladys would “rest her eyes”, but only for a moment!
