Gerald Russell January 26, 1937 - March 31, 2022

Passed peacefully away at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on March 31, 2022, Gerald Russell of Musgravetown in his 85th year.  Predeceased by his parents Alphaeus and Alma Russell, brother Bert, sisters Betty Way and Louise Foote, parents-in-law Joseph and Myrtle Piercey, brothers-in-law Hollis Holloway and Clyde Way.  Left with fond and loving memories, his wife of 59 years, Clara, daughters Sandra, Debbie (Larry Noble), Donna (Andy Butt),  son Tom, grandchildren Sean (Sabrina), Paul, and Gracie, great-grandson Arthur, sisters Cora Holloway and Adela Bennett (Maurice), brother-in-laws Stan Foote and Clarence Piercey (Edna), sisters-in-law Eileen Russell, Sadie Morris, Una Snow (George) and Louise Piercey(Ed), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Also, his special friend Tony Brown, his home care workers especially Paula Templeman who has been a great comfort to the family during the past two years. Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with interment to follow at United Cemetery, Musgravetown.

    I know you were not expecting your dad to go as quickly as he did but as you said, in some ways its a blessing. You have done so much for your dad over the course of his illness he was lucky to have you as his daughter.     To Clara and the family. We just heard about Gerald’s passing this morning. We send our sincere condolences and have fond memories of Gerald, especially the times spent together in the cabins in Change Harbour. We will also miss our chats with him at the rec center.
