Georgie is also remembered by a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, near and far, as a faithful United Church Women member, a supporter of her church and the wider community, a life-long shutterbug, proud owner and operator of the Midway Superette, and at 16 started her career as a much loved teacher when she moved to North Harbour; where she met the love of her life, Eric. She loved being out on the water with family, either in Placentia Bay, or in the open ocean on a cruise. She also loved boil ups in the woods and picnics on the beaches of Placentia Bay, with Eric and her friends and family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who loved hard no matter who you were. Her doctor described her as someone with a beautiful soul; anyone who knew her, knew this to be true.

Georgie’s family would like to thank Doctor Paula Pye for the exemplary care she provided for over 30 years as well as Community Support Nurse Cathy Edwards and the staff at Health-e Choice Pharmacy. Your kindness, dedication, professionalism, and compassion will not be forgotten.

Details for Visitation and the Celebration of Life service to be determined.

Flowers, especially Carnations, Georgie’s favourite flower, will be gratefully accepted.
Per Georgie’s wishes, monetary donations may be made in her memory to Bethel United Church of North Harbour, the UCW of Bethel United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society with designation to Breast cancer research.

Georgiana was a wonderful spirited woman who touched my life when Marilyn brought her to the studio and I had the pleasure of teaching her senior fitness. She always had a smile and lots of laughter. I will miss her.. she was like an honorary Mom.
