Condolences

Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Thursday, February 20, 2025, George Bird of Cartwright, age 74 years.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Ruth Bird; sister Marion Pardy and brother Gary Bird (Stig).

Left with fond and loving memories his wife Violet; daughter Terri Lynn; step-sons Wade Dyson (Sandra) and Kelly Dyson (Melinda); grandchildren Abigail, Brady, Logan, Brooklyn, Cody (Allison), Adam (Keesha), Richelle, Kylie, Savannah, Gracie and Stella; great grandchildren Benjamin, Emma, Caleb and Cameron; sister Carol Bird; niece Lorna (Kevin), nephew Ed (Warlyn); great nephews Gary, Jake, Owen and Ian; and a large circle of family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Sunday, February 23 from 2 – 4 p.m. Cremation is to follow with a memorial service being held in Cartwright, Labrador at a later date.

I knew George quite well when I was with the LFUS Co. back in the day. Several trips I made with him across Sandwich Bay and many a laugh we had together.

George was a part of my life growing up in Cartwright. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences go out to Vi and all of his family and friends.
