Garfield Alexander Greening January 13, 1962 - August 25, 2026

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on August 25, 2026, Garfield Greening of Port Blandford, age 64 years.

Predeceased by his parents Hubert and Joan Greening, and sister Gena Vornbrock.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughter Cassandra  (Jean-Yves);  grandson Henry Gauthier; mother of their daughter Rose; sister Glenda of Port Blandford; brothers Grant (Verna) of Cold Lake Alberta, Gordon (Mimi) of Yellowknife; brother-in-law Tom Vornbrock; special friends Verd Greening, Derrick Greening, Boyd Holloway, Mike and Lynn Williams.

Resting at Alton United Church Port Blandford. Visitation on Thursday, August 27, 2026  from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service 2:00 p.m Friday, August 28, 2026 at Alton United Church, Port Blandford. Cremation will take place after the service. Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alton United Church, Port Blandford.

Visitation on Thursday, August 27, 2026  from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m Friday, August 28, 2026 at Alton United Church, Port Blandford.

Cremation will take place after the service. Interment will be held at a later date.

    Sincere condolences to all, I met Gary many years ago when I first landed in Yellowknife and considered him a good friend. I will always remember our hunting trips down the highway, and the fun we would have on our trikes. Rest in peace my old friend.

    My Condolences to all of Gary’s Family and Friends. He was a Class Act Diamond Driller, Standup Newfoundlander, and a solid Friend. So many fond memories of working with him in the Northwest Territories. Grant and Verd, I will raise my glass to him with humble tribute. Another gone way to early. Rest in Peace my friend!
