May 9, 2024 at 12:12 pmMy very sincere condolences to Gail’s family, and from my wife as well. Gail and I were colleagues in forest management and silviculture. She was a dedicated, knowledgeable and practical professional in all aspects of her work, and, I remember, in her off-work life also, especially her dedication to the Girl Guides of Canada. When Gail moved away from Alberta, I was struck that we probably wouldn’t see each other again, but all of the work in forest management she did up here in northern Alberta was valuable for the future of the Forest Service and she made a very positive mark while she was here. Rest in Peace, my friend.

May 10, 2024 at 9:24 amWell said Marty. I have many fond moments working with you and Gail during my tenure at the Clearhills Ranger station. We formed a great team as you both showed me how to navigate the rocks and shoals of all things silviculture in the NW corner of Alberta.

May 9, 2024 at 1:01 pmSincerest condolences to all of Gail’s family and friends. I knew Gail both through work with in Northern Alberta with the government and more through our involvement in Girl Guides. I truly got to know her when we took a group of Girl Guides to an International Girl Guide camp for 10 days in 2006 – all the planning, prep work and the time at camp. She was a mentor to me and many who crossed her path. I appreciated her patience, wisdom, calm presence and willingness to always have a great chat (even if it was late at night around the campfire!)!

May 10, 2024 at 9:20 amOne of the sweetest, kind and caring people taken far too soon. When I worked as a wage Forest Officer outta the East Peace Ranger District from Nov 1990 – March 1991, Gail was my supervisor. She was the Lone Ranger working out of the McLennan Ranger Station. Gail, You were always nice to me and had a ton of patience as you shared your wisdom with us young up and coming forest officers. Your kindness also always
showed with your love for your pets.
