Passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 22, 2025, Fredrick Howse of Bloomfield, aged 59 years.
Predeceased by his father Ernest; sisters Charlene and Charlotte; brothers Leonard and Arthur; niece Brenda Tobin and nephew Mitchell Penney.
Left with fond and loving memories his wife Janet of 35 years; sons Matthew (Heather) and Lucas (Sara); grandchildren Allison, Benjamin, Elyse, Nadia and Wesley; his mother Edna Howse; sisters Jenny (Rick), Valerie (Larry), Paulette (Cory), Yvonne (Larry), Roxanne (Aubrey) and Sadie (Clifford); brothers Lawrence (Yvonne) and Wilbert (Sharon); and a large number of nieces, nephews, other family members and a very large circle of friends.
Fred was a very kind hearted man. He loved helping others more than anything. If Fred had something that someone needed, he made sure they had it. If he wasn’t in the woods working, you could find Fred down to the beach in his happy place. He loved to share his space with family and friends while laughing and carrying on. Fred had the most contagious laugh. He was loved by many and will truly be missed.
Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Visitation on Thursday, June 26 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and Friday, June 27 from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Islandview Citadel, Musgravetown.
After the funeral the family would like to invite everyone to Fred’s favourite place to host a gathering. “ Fred’s Place “ located at the end of Aunt Emily’s Lane on the beach, for a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking a donation be made to the breakfast program at Anthony Paddon Elementary or Heritage Collegiate.

June 25, 2025 at 8:23 pmJanet , Matt, Lucas and Howse family , so sorry to hear about Fred. I still can’t believe it. Fred was one of the best. Always a smile on his face . The last time I saw Fred was on Saturday afternoon with Murray . By chance, we had stopped down to see Fred at the wharf. We helped him put some electrical wire in place for a light on his new wharf . After we finished we had a good chat and a few laughs, not knowing it would be the last time we’d spend with him. The last words he said to me when we were leaving was “take care of yourself”.
Rest in peace, my friend.
