Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Albert O’Mahony Memorial Manor in Clarenville on Friday, December 5, 2025, Frank Parsons, originally of Bloomfield. Due to his career with Scotiabank, Frank lived in various areas of Newfoundland and Labrador, spending 37 years in Grand Falls-Windsor before returning to Clarenville to be closer to family.
Predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and John Parsons; parents-in-law, Elsie and Ted Pritchett; and brother-in-law, Newman Williams. Left with fond and loving memories is the love of his life, Judy, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years; his precious daughter, Tina (Joe) McGrath; and his grandchildren, Sophia and Evan, whom he adored and who brought so much love and joy to his life. Also left to mourn are his sister, Elizabeth (Doug) Russell; brothers, Clayton (Maxine) Parsons and Shawn (Lorie) Parsons; sister in law Sylvia (Gus) Doucette and sister in law Joy Williams; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of friends.
Frank was a quiet, thoughtful, and humble man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the peace it offered. He spent countless hours salmon fishing along Newfoundland’s rivers, trouting in quiet ponds, and camping under the stars. He loved the tradition of rabbit catching and berry picking, always finding happiness in the great outdoors. These moments brought him immense joy and created cherished memories with family and friends.
The family would like to extend a big heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Dr. Albert O’Mahony Memorial Manor for their exceptional care and compassion.
As per his wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

I have a very fond memory of Frank, back in the mid sixties, picking me up at the train station in Clarenville on a very stormy day in January and taking me to the bank. He was such a nice, quiet guy. Have never forgotten that day. RIP, Frank.

Expressing our sincere condolences to you all as you mourn the passing of this fine gentleman who we were privileged to call friend. We were friends to Frank’s family for many years in Bloomfield but knew Frank mostly from our salmon fishing excursions to Torrent River, Hawkes Bay. Will always remember the smell of pipe tobacco drifting over from the guy on the far side of Wing Pool as he cast a long line and the friendly wave and smile when he recognized me on the opposite bank. No noise, just a quiet recognition passed between two like souls. That was Frank!

Frank and Max were class mates when they attended high school in Musgravetown. Following high school their career paths, Frank with the Bank of Nova Scotia and Max in health care, took them to various parts of the province. They reunited when both were salmon fishing on Torrent River in Hawkes Bay when Max saw a gentleman sitting on a rock smoking his pipe and immediately recognized Frank. During subsequent years we , with Judy and Hazel, camped next to each other at Square Pond Park where we enjoyed many chats and campfires. Then in 2023 we both ended up renting next door to each other where the friendship continued. Tight lines friend and rest in peace. Max and Hazel Saint.
