Florence Hodder December 26, 1939 - June 10, 2026

Passed away peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord on June 10, 2026 at Dr. GB Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, Florence Hodder of North Harbour, aged 86 years.

Florence was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant the world to her; they were her pride and joy. She was known to her family and friends as a kind, sweet and gentle soul who would do anything for them, expecting nothing in return. Florence had a special place in her heart for her brother, Ben Joe, whom she lived with for many years. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and infectious laugh.

She is predeceased by her husband Cecil; brothers Eli and James William; sisters Dinah Rose and Mabel.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children Ann (Junior Gilbert), Ben (Karen), Brenda (Calvin Snook) and Mabel (Ken Whalen); grandchildren Bradley, Michael, Jonathan, Carol Leann, Ashley, Adam and Jeremy; great grandchildren Allie, Isack, Carter and Scarlett; brother Benjamin Hoben; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Resting at Victory Pentecostal Church, North Harbour on Thursday, June 11 from 7 – 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.  Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Victory Pentecostal Church, North Harbour with interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, North Harbour.

A special thanks to all of the staff at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital who took such great care of Florence, both in her final days and for the 3 months she spent there from November 2025-March 2026. We would also like to thank Dr. Ali, all the Nurses, PCAs, and support staff who looked after Mom during her time at the Clarenville Protective Care Community Residence and the Dr. Albert O’Mahoney Manor for the wonderful care she received during her time there. Florence will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

In her memory flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NL.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Victory Pentecostal Church, North Harbour with interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, North Harbour.
