May 28, 2022 at 8:48 pmEwart was a man whom I had the utmost of respect for because he simply called things the way he seen it and didn’t care if you liked what he was saying but he was usually right. He always spoke from the heart, cared for the people he loved and could be counted on when needed. He will be sadly missed.

May 31, 2022 at 3:54 pmSo sad reading this. One of the things that stood out most was the comment if you met Ewart once you were friends for life. That’s exactly how I remember him. A friend for life. He had many friends it looks like and a very happy and full life fir someone only sixty-one years young. He will be missed by all but never forgotten by anyone who knew him. Rest easy my friend.

May 31, 2022 at 8:40 pmWhen I was a kid I remember Ewart used to sometimes come along with the Salvation Army Youth Group trips, on bus. It was like having a comedian and a singer on our trip!
Times he didn’t make it – we were all disappointed 🙂
He was one of a kind! A good person, and very well liked and respected by all who knew him.
I’m sure I never met anyone who was so well known as Ewart – by everyone!
I can’t even write this without tears!
My condolences to Phil, John, Elaine, and all the family!

May 31, 2022 at 9:21 pmJohn, Elaine, Philip, Richer & family,
Thank you John for letting me know. I can’t believe it. We had just re-connected within the last 2 months and said we would get together when he was next in St. John’s. It was so great to talk and laugh with him on the phone. There was always laughter when he was around. I will never forget how beautifully he sang at our wedding and how he shook his head and mouthed “Say no” with a big smile when we exchanged our vows. I am sure he will have laughs with John on the other side.
I never think of him without a smile and think of the good times the three of us had when together.
Please take care of yourselves.
Sue

June 1, 2022 at 11:08 amI met Ewart through common friends during Theatre TBA days, worked with him at the White Hills Ski Resort and connected with him once more at the Terra Nova Project. Every time I saw him, it meant smiles and laughter. Just a lovable rogue that always made you happy you met him. Big smile, big voice, big personality. Unforgettable character, who will be sadly missed.

June 18, 2022 at 6:03 pmSo sorry to see he had to leave us too soon in life. I spent many happy times with Ewart when I was younger. He would party with us at my parents summer cabin with my sisters and Boyd and Shirley. One summer we tied a rope to my niece’s yellow ride on duck and we pulled it back and forth across the highway in front of our cabin when a car approached. Always a fun time with Ewart.
