Eugene William Norris September 26, 1958 - July 21, 2025

Eugene William Norris was born September 26, 1958 in the small town of Come by Chance, and that seemed to dictate his personality.

Bill was a fun loving laid back person whose personality was much larger than his small stature.  From the time he could walk until his last day Bill had a passion for sports that few could hold a candle to. If there was a sport around him he played it or coached it, and in the process made many life long friends who we know will miss his fun loving ways.

Chances are if you have played darts or golf in Gander these last few years you have seen Bill’s infectious smile as he truly enjoyed spending time with his friends doing both.

Bill is pre-deceased by his father Joshua Norris who he lost as a young man, and his brother Wade whom he never had a chance to meet. Both still help shape him into the man he became.

Left to mourn are his mother Ruby Norris of Clarenville, who he adored; His younger brothers Lindsay (Maria) and Stanley (Jan) both of which he could often be found having the best of times as only brothers can; His nephews Matthew (Kayla) and Bradley (Jackie); His nieces Jill, Melissa (Chris), Nikki (Ashley) and all his great nephews and nieces which he cherished.

And lastly his son Billy (Janine) and his grandchildren Claire and Dominic. Bill spent many Tuesday nights with Billy sharing their love of darts.  He could also be found around the softball field watching his granddaughter with a proud smile.

Family will be accepting friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Friday, July 25th from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.

Bill touched many lives and we will all dearly miss his smile, laugh, and easy nature.

Until we meet again, we hope the grass is green and short and the screech is cold.

Arrangements entrusted through Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander – Carmanville.
