Ethel Marshall Williams passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 29, 2026, at the age of 94.

Ethel was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles; her son, Ross; and her great-granddaughter, Sarah.

She leaves to mourn her loving children: Barbara (Ivan), Elaine (Keith), and Robert (Marcella); her brothers-in-law, Raymond Stoyles, and Eric Courtney; and her sister-in-law, Bernice Marshall. Her kindness and compassion touched countless lives.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the healthcare staff at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, and heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Hilltop Manor for the exceptional love and care shown to our mother.

Barbara, Elaine and Bob, so sorry to hear of Nan Williams passing. She lived a wonderful life. I always enjoyed my chats with her whenever I visited your home, and was always impressed by her memory. While I struggled to come up with a name in our conversation she always remembered the name. She will be missed. Praying for you all during this time.

    Barb,Elaine,Bob and Families,

Words alone will never fully express the loss that I feel at the passing of your dear mom. She has been a constant in my life since my 8th birthday . I have many memories of her that I hope I will always remember. Except for the obvious things about her ie , her generosity, her knitting, baking but also , her obvious love and pride that she had for her family. I know that we will reminisce at a later time.
Our dear friend certainly left this world a better place because of her time here , she made a positive difference.
I hope that you feel my presence with you as you lay her to rest tomorrow . Hold fast to your memories and always be there for each other .

Wayne and I are sending our sincere condolences to all of you .
    Love
    Sylvia.

Barbara, Elaine and Bob. Today you will lay to rest the most precious commodity that a family could possess and certainly could boast about -your Mom. I remember her from my years living on the Hall’s Bay Road (now the TCH). She was such a great neighbour. Cherish her remarkable lady. Jean and I had the privilege of chatting with her in Florida. She always had such a wonderful smile. Lean heavy on the everlasting arms -the arms of Jesus today. I will be praying for you that God will be very precious and give you a double portion of His everlasting peace.
