Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Sunday, October 5, 2025, Eric John Barrett of North West Brook, aged 91 years, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his wife Drucilla Barrett (nee Bursey); father, Walter Barrett, mother, Elizabeth Barrett Bailey (nee Vivian); step-father, Baxter Bailey; brothers, Will Barrett, Jim Barrett; 3 infant sisters; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Barrett; father-in-law, Reuben Bursey; mother-in-law, Eliza Bursey. Leaving to mourn his children, Raymond Bursey (Donna), Linda Martin (Frank), Eva Hussey, Gwen Thistle (Gord), Allan Barrett (Hilda), Michelle Squires (Stephen), William Barrett (Jackie), 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Also his furbaby Tiger the cat. Resting at Zion Pentecostal Church in North West Brook on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 10-12 A.M., 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to take place from Zion Pentecostal Church North West Brook on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, North West Brook. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital staff for their care. A special thank you to Dr. Pearce for your care and compassion over the years. To his homecare workers, his daughter Eva and Kitty Keats thank you for taking such good care of him. Thank you also, to Pastor Ings and Carla for all your help.

So sorry to hear of your dear Dad’s passing, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. We are losing a fine neighbour and will miss him too.
We always had nice times visiting him, and now will miss our laughs together and the stories he would tell us.
