Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Thursday, April 3, 2025, Eric Gordon Butt of Shoal Harbour, age 79 years.
Predeceased by his parents Moses and Effie Butt; brothers George Butt and Jack Butt; sisters Edna Vardy and Geneva Spurrell; parents-in-law George and Nellie Seward and brother-in-law Alonzo Seward.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Dorothy of 59 years; children Darrin (Stephanie), Lori, and David (Susan); grandchildren Devon, Dillon (Brittany), Steven (Rebecca), Haylee and Riley; sister Viola White; sisters-in-law Phyllis Butt, Kay Butt, Alena Parrott and Rowena Avery; brothers-in-law, Austin (Clarabelle), Alvin (Valerie), Hubert (Bernice), Merlin (Mario), Terry, Darren (Bonnie) and Rod (Nikki) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. Visitation will be on Monday April 7th from 2-4 for immediate family and relatives and from 7-9 for friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 8th at 2 pm at the Fewer’s Memorial Chapel.
In his memory, donations may be made to the United Church Cemetery Fund, Shoal Harbour.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Miles Clayden at St. Clare’s Hospital, the nurses and staff of St. Clare’s Hospital and The Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care and compassion.
