Elsie Elliott October 16, 1963 - November 8, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Elsie Elliott (nee Smart) age 60 years announce her passing on Nov. 8th, 2023.

She passed away peacefully and gracefully at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her parents; Caleb and Cora Smart (nee Butt), in-laws; Gordon and Reta Elliott (nee Matthews), nephew; Chad Wiseman; special cousins; Janine Harris and Steve Brown.

Leaving to mourn with broken hearts but cherished memories of love and laughter, best friend and high-school sweetheart, her loving husband of 36 years, Rod Elliott; her cherished children: son Ryan Elliott (Angela), and daughter Brittany Gillis (Morgan). Leaving too soon, her precious grandchildren: Jack, Blaire and Isabel Gillis and Blake and Teddy Elliott they were the center of her universe igniting her beautiful smile every day.

Also leaving to mourn: her sister Leeann Rideout (Owen); brother David Smart (Heather); sisters-in-law: Sharon Howse (Wilb), Deborah Elliott and Anita Elliott (Ian) and brother-in-law Rick (Pam) Elliott. Also, all those dear friends whose hearts she has touched.

A special thank you to her family doctor, Dr. Wade Young, who will be remembered forever, for the compassion and kindness he has shown to Elsie and her family.

Elsie will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion to others, love for family and friends, laughter, uplifting spirit, contagious smile. “If we have the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance”.

Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Saturday November 11th, 12:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00pm. Visitation will continue at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge, Sunday November 12th, from 11:30-1:15 pm. Interment to follow at United Cemetery, Lethbridge.

In lieu of flowers in memory of Elsie, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Gathering Place
