Edna Blanche Dalton March 3, 1928 - December 4, 2022

Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Home, St. John’s on Sunday, December 4, 2022, Edna Blanche Dalton of Harcourt, age 94 years.  Predeceased by her husband Joseph; dearly loved daughter-in-law Eve; parents, brothers, sisters, best friend Minnie Goodyear; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  Left with fond and loving memories her children Rosalind Bracegirdle (Geoffrey); Wayne Dalton, Ivan Dalton (Geralyn); grandchildren Angela Hurley (Robert), Morgan Bracegirdle (Anita), Shane Dalton (Annamarie), Rhea Skomorowski (Warren) and Ashley Kucher (Chris); great grandchildren Samantha, Leah, Henry, Peter, James, Domonik, Max, Rockland and Cade; foster sister Lillian Pelley; cousin Louise Pelley; two special friends with  whom she shared a birthday Lillian Frampton and Netta Bailey; two special friends Thomas and Margaret Moore who brightened her day by their visits at St. Luke’s; and a large circle of family and friends.  Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 7 – 9 p.m. and Wednesday, December 7 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville.  Funeral service will be held at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Harcourt.  In her memory donations may be made to St. Luke’s Home, St. John’s.

    Rosalind, Wayne and Ivan, I am saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. It’s never easy losing a parent but I am sure your Mom created beautiful memories for you to ease your sorrow. I know I have memories of her that will last a lifetime. She was genuinely special in many ways.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed my visits with Mrs. Dalton and her roomie- Mrs. Goodyear. They had the best stories and were always full of wit! I always said that they were the real golden girls. Thinking of her family and sending my condolences.

Her positive participation in our community contributed to it being a much better place for all of us.     To Rosalind, Wayne, Ivan and your families, I send my sincere condolences. I’m truly saddened to hear of your mother’s death. She was my school teacher, 4-H club leader and in many ways a mentor to me and alot of my age group who grew up in the community. My heart is with you at this time and Blanche, rest in peace.

    To the Dalton Family;
    Another guiding light gone from our lives. Like everyone else who ever met Blanche, I am deeply saddened by the news of her death. I’ve known her all my life and will miss visiting her and her best friend Minnie whenever I went home. We’ll miss her terribly but, the great memories she left us, will certainly help us during this time of sorrow. You had to love her.

    Aunt Blanche was such a sweet women. I visited her and Aunt Minnie several times on my visits. I will miss her, the stories that she had to tell and that beautiful smiling face!
