Dot Spurrell April 4, 1953 - August 3, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dot Spurrell of Butter Cove at  Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on August 03, 2024 in her 72nd year. Predeceased by her son, Dean; parents, Art and Agnes Dean; parents-in-law, Richard and Annie Spurrell; and others special to her.

Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Clifford of 52 years; her daughter, Elizabeth (Ken); grandson, Lucas; sister, Ivy (Gordon); brother, Fred (Lisa); sister-in-law, Pearl; extra-special nieces and nephews, Conrad, Roxanne, Agnes, Margaret, Morley, and Phillip who provided immeasurable support in recent months; her boy, Matheson; special friends, Shirley, Sheila, and Marguerite; and her fur-baby, Molly who brought immense joy to her heart.

Mom always put the needs of others before her own. She had a quick-wit, strong personality, forgiving heart, gentle hand, and she loved fiercely.

As per the families wishes, a private visitation will be held on August 5th 6:30-8:00 at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville. Cremation and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

We welcome those who have been on the inside of our support circle these past months. Please respect these wishes.

We are heart broken for you. Dot was a special wife, mother and friend.

How life changes so quickly I will never understand. I have missed Dot in Terra Nova the last few years but made a point of dropping in to see her for a chat. I wish I had chatted longer last week. I will miss my friend.

    RIP Dot 🕊
