Viola M. Bolt May 31, 1943 - November 1, 2024

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Viola Marion (Lockyer) Bolt of Arnold’s Cove, formerly of Isle au Valen, Placentia Bay on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville at the age of 81 years.

Viola was born on Isle au Valen, Placentia Bay on May 31, 1943.  Her parents were Edgar and Myrtle (Lockyer) Lockyer of Isle au Valen.  She married Victor Gerald Bolt on December 7, 1964 and had 6 children; Wesley, Judy, Fredrick, Debbie, Victor and Linda.  Viola was a loving and caring person, always taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She spent many years back on Isle au Valen after resettlement supporting her family and fishing with her husband Victor.  She spent time in Nova Scotia working in the apple orchards and really enjoyed living there until she returned to Arnold’s Cove to retire and spend time with her family.  She was always  so happy to see family and loved when everyone was around.

She is survived by her husband Victor; children Wesley, Judy (William), Fred (Tammy), Debbie, Victor Jr. and Linda (Brian); along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Also left to mourn are brothers Malcolm and Winston (Debbie); sisters Sylvia, Maude and Minnie (Ed); sister-in-law Lilly.

She is predeceased by her parents Edgar and Myrtle Lockyer; son-in-law Tolson Scott and daughters-in-law Angie Hepditch and Denise Leonard; siblings Reginald (Elizabeth), Enos (Mary), Earl, Gabriel, Lewis and Charlotte (Gordon); parents-in-law William and Julie Bolt of Tacks Beach, Placentia Bay; sister-in-law Mary; brothers-in-law Randy and Clayton.

Visitation will be held at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Arnold’s Cove on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 1 – 7 p.m.  Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at St. Michaels Anglican Church, Arnolds Cove.
