Selina Upshall May 13, 1939 - June 23, 2023

Selina (Hodder) Upshall of Clarenville, passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on June 23, 2023. She was 84 years old. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 years Frank Upshall; parents William Thomas and Mary Anne (Hooper) Hodder; stepmother Sara Jenkins; brothers, John, Cecil, William Henry, Rueben, Harvey and her twin brother who died in childbirth; her sister Mary Keating; parents-in-law George and Adelaide (Dicks) Upshall; brothers-in-law Sam Warren, Jack Keating and Harry Hutchings; and, sisters-in-law Annie (Upshall) Warren, Marie (Collett) Upshall and Maxine (Stacey) Upshall. Left with fond and loving memories her children Roxane Wareham (Leeland) and Randy (Lori-Ann); her grandchildren Riley (Sabina), Kayleigh and Braden (Regan); her brother Charles (Lori); her sisters Evelyn Halliday (Gerald), Olive Hodder, Ada Hutchings, and Christine Searle (Terrance); brothers-in-law Ronald, Percy, and Albert Upshall; sisters-in-law Glenys Upshall and Sylvia Hodder; cherished friend Eugene Snow; and a large circle of dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Clarenville. Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from  2:00-4:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM.  Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel in Clarenville with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in North Harbour. In her memory, flowers gratefully accepted, or a donation may be made to the SPCA.

As her children and grandchildren, we are heartbroken at the tremendous loss of this beautiful, special woman. We are also grateful that we had her in our lives for as long as we did and the blessing of her love. She had a beautiful way of making you feel loved and seen and appreciated. She passed away peacefully and has been reunited with her beloved Frank and the precious family members who predeceased her. In her final days she spoke often of her twin brother who died in childbirth and hoped he would be the one to welcome her to heaven.

And true to her nature, her last words to us before she slipped from this world into the next was, “I love you all.”

“To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die.”

 

 

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel in Clarenville with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in North Harbour.

    Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your precious mom. I remember when growing up in North Harbour what a kind and gentle person she was, always a smile and a quiet hello. May it help to know that others care and understand the loss of a beautiful mom. May your beautiful memories bring you peace, and hold her close until you meet again, thinking of you on your journey of healing.
