Passed away peacefully at Dr. Albert O’Mahony Memorial Manor, Clarenville on Sunday August 31 2025, Monnie Hann of Port Blandford NL, age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Gordon, parents Rex and Gladys Keats, brothers Clayton and Frank, sister Marcia.
Left with fond and loving memories are her children Kathy, Lorne (Cindy), Leslie (Judy), Lloyd (Tracy), Randy (Paula), Dale (Lori), and granddaughter Melanie (George); sisters Ester (Gary) and Cassie (Alex), brothers Harvey (Margie), Gary (Joyce) and Perry (Sheila); grandchildren Roxanne, Marshall, Ashley, Loren, Michael, Nicolas, Gordon, Ryan, Shelley, Trey, Holly, and Justin; 12 great grandchildren; brothers/sisters in-law; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Special friend Gerald Tucker, Gerald’s daughters Julie and Sheena.
Monnie was a strong and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family deeply. Family was her world, to say they regarded her with love and respect would be an understatement.
Monnie was a very generous, giving person who dedicated decades of service to the UCW, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Royal Canadian Legion, always involved with the church.
Her home was her happy place, a warm and welcoming spot that friends and family enjoyed visiting, she made all feel welcome.
She also liked her quiet time and enjoyed her daily walks along the river.
Truly a remarkable person, one couldn’t imagine a better mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend.
The best multitasker, she could prep a meal, do house work, look after children, arrange Legion events, and at the same time bake bread without missing a beat.
Monnie was a born and natural care giver, she was a mother figure to so many.
Visitation is scheduled at the Port Blandford Alton United Church for Tuesday Sept. 2nd 7pm – 9pm and Sept 3rd 2pm-4pm. Funeral service will be held at this same location at 2pm Thursday Sept 4th.
In lieu of flowers Monnie would like donations made to the Port Blandford Alton United Church.

September 2, 2025 at 12:44 pmKatie, Lorne, Les, Lloyd, Randy, Dale, Melanie…. I’m so saddened to hear of your Moms passing. I have the best memories of growing up….spending so much time at your house…. And not many times did I go up there, not to find fresh bread on the counter. And if I was there during meal time, I was always welcomed to a meal. The best memories a girl could have. Then the last few yrs I spent home, caring for Mom and Dad…Monnie’s rolls were the talk of the town….weather it would be a function at the church or legion…. Everyone would be talking about Monnie’s rolls. 😊
She definitely was a mother to many and will be missed.
To all her Family and friends… I send my sincere condolences. She was a gentle soul…RIP
Monnie…. You sure earned your angel wings 🪽 👼

September 3, 2025 at 9:36 amCondolences to Monnie’s family and friends. I was so young when we would all get together on Sundays but I do remember those visits. Mom & Dad, Uncle Rex & Aunt Gladys, plus all the crew, all piled in together having a wonderful Sunday dinner or cold Sunday supper. It was always fun hanging with family and playing around the railway tracks area. Sincere condolences from me and from Mom (Florence Keats).
