Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Monday, November 28, 2022, Maryann Tremblett, aged 80 years. Predeceased by her parents Lorenzo and Amy Hurdle, as well as parents in law Hubert & Hilda Tremblett. Left with a lifetime of fond and loving memories are her husband of 60 years, Wallace; sons Greg (Anne), Merv (Martha); daughters Diane King (Clyde) and Yvonne Mahoney (Chris). Her wonderful grandchildren that she adored and was so proud of – Amanda, Travis (Laura), Amber & Martin as well as step grandchildren Troy Clarke (Rebecca) & Taylor Mahoney.
Mom grew up in the small town of Dunfield, TB and met the love of her life when she was fifteen. When she was nineteen they were wed and from then on dad and her family was her whole life, residing in Charleston, Bonavista Bay. She was a force to be reckoned with, ruling the household with a stern hand while dad was a devoted father and provider to the family making sure we all had what we needed. Many times dad’s work took him away from home but mom didn’t miss a beat playing both roles. She took great satisfaction in tackling everything head on and always wanted to finish what she started, believing everything had to be in order. The beautiful quilts and knitted items she made over the years were flawless and admired by many.
Following cremation there will be a brief visitation at the Grace United Church, Dunfield beginning at 10AM on Friday, December 2, 2022 followed by service at 2PM. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Charleston. The family would like to thank the staff at the Glenbrook Lodge, St. John’s who took such good care of her these past eight months. Mom was dearly loved, admirably respected and will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
