It is with saddened spirits but endless heartwarming memories that we announce the loss of Mary Tucker of Burgoyne’s Cove, age 84 years. Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, favourite aunt, and cherished member of the community.
Born March 20th, 1941 to Abraham Anderson of British Harbour and Mildred Anderson (Carberry) of Burgoyne’s Cove. Passed away peacefully at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on February 3rd, 2026, in the arms of loving family. Now reunited with her dearly missed parents, sister Dorothy, and at last, daughter Theresa.
Left to reminisce of her gracious love, kindness and generosity are brothers Ken and Henry; children Mildred, Gilbert, Betty, Louise, Judy and Lisa; her 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, countless friends, and of course, her favourite four-legged friend Gizmo.
Mary loved unconditionally and was committed to her various roles in the community. Whether it was 4-H, Youth Group, or Sunday School, every child was a gift. Selflessly earning her the adopted title of Nan or Aunt from most who walked through her door. The Anglican Church had a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed many years serving with her friends in the Burgoyne’s Cove ACW.
Special thanks to the staff and management of the Clarenville Retirement Centre for providing her with a safe and loving home in her later years.
Resting at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Burgoyne’s Cove. Visitation Thursday, Feb. 5 and Friday, Feb. 6 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service, 2pm, Saturday February 7th, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to St. Mary’s Anglican Church will be graciously accepted.
