It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie Strong, age 88, who passed away peacefully at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville NL surrounded by her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Roy Strong, partner Phillip Lethbridge, parents Norman & Mabel Keel (nee Pardy), step-mother Christine, father-in-law Herbert Strong, mother-in-law Annie Strong, daughter Nita Short, brothers: Norman, Johnny, Eddy, son-in-law Blain Fullbrook and step-daughter Eleanor Haynes (Jeff), many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Marjorie is survived by her children: Dianne Greening (David), Alberta, Vivian Fullbrook, Ontario, Cathy Janes (Rick), Alberta, Victor (Natalie), Shoal Harbour, Leonard (Audra), Thorburn Lake, and William (Suzette), Morley’s Siding, as well as 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, son-in-law Wayne Short and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, especially her life-long friend and sister Ruby, brothers: Eugene, Bob, Sandy, sisters: Winnie, Ruby, Mary, Mildred, Marty, Jenny, step-children: Marlene Blundon (Owen) and family, Random Island, and Sandy Lethbridge (Shirley) and family, Clarenville.
Marjorie enjoyed bingo, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, berry picking, playing cards and traveling with Phillip and her family. She loved visits from family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always looked forward to seeing her daughters who lived away and her sons who lived close by. She made sure she always had their favorite foods and treats when they came for their visits.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital and her home care provider Yvonne Penney for their care and compassion.
Cremation will take place as per Marjorie’s wishes and visitation will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m at Fewers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Clarenville United Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon at the Lions Club immediately after interment.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
