We wish to extend heartfelt thanks to the healthcare workers on the medicine unit at the G.B. Cross for making Ivy’s last days so comfortable. Your care for her was exceptional.

Our wish for you, Mom, is to go to a place with unlimited trails to explore, lots of trout to catch, and to be surrounded by your loving family, grand puppy Rosie and all your beloved animals that you adored.

As per Ivy’s wishes, we will celebrate her life privately. If you would like to remember her in a tribute, please donate in her name to the Clarenville SPCA and “stock the shelter for Steve” this Christmas.

“Your Mother is always with you. She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street.  She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, the fragrance of life itself. She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well. She’s your breath in the air on a cold winter’s day.  She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colours of a rainbow, she is Christmas morning. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She’s the place you came from, your first home, and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love, your first friend and nothing on earth can separate you…not time, not space. Not even death.”

Sad to hear this news. I used to go Greenings for two reasons when I visited Newfoundland. One was for large fries with dressing and gravy, the other was to say hi to Ivy. Her smiling face and pleasant welcome will always be remembered. Condolences to Gord and family.

My condolences to all of Ivy’s family. Our families were very close during our childhood days in Lethbridge, growing up just 2 doors away from each other. During our adult years distance came between us ,but we managed to keep in touch .The obituary was so beautiful and heartfelt….Rest in peace my beautiful cousin.

I’m so sorry to hear the news about your wife and mom. She was a wonderful person, I remember her well from days in your basement huddled around the Nintendo. She would come and check on us often. I hope your memories of her will stay clear forever, and you see her again in your day to day in your own kids and every night in your dreams.

I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Ivy’s passing. I am thankful that we had a chance to visit a couple years ago with my Dad. Aunt Ivy treated us with a home cooked meal and showered little Thorey with love and attention. Sending our love and condolences.
