Frederick George Gardner February 15, 1931 - December 8, 2025

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, NL on Monday, December 8, 2025, Fred Gardner of Barton, NL in his 95th year.

Fred was predeceased by his wife Lillian (Legge) in 2014, two infant children and all of his siblings.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Eric, Sandra Lucas (John), Linda Marshall (Ian deceased), Reg (Lynn), Nancy Buck (Terry), Dexter (Beverly), Woodrow (Julie) and Fred Jr. (Lorrie); 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his special friend and companion Linda Tremblett with whom he resided, as well as a large circle of family and friends.

A special thank you to Linda for her love and care over the years, and to Woodrow for his daily visits and being just a phone call away when needed.

Cremation has taken place.  At Fred’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville, NL.

You may be gone from our eyes, Dad—but you’re etched into everything we are. In the way we pause when we’re unsure. In the words we say without thinking—because they were yours first.

    Uncle Fred…our Dad’s only brother. Because of living in Ontario, I only had the chance to see you a few times in my life, but have such lovely memories of visiting you. Your sense of humour and devotion to family were always so evident. Rest in peace dear uncle.

    It was such a pleasure knowing Fred. He was a very gentle man. He was a wonderful companion to our mom Linda and we appreciated his mildness and kindness.
