There are no words to say how saddened we were to hear of Eric’s passing. A good neighbour, with a helpful hand on Terrence’s Pond, Eric was so much appreciated. With Lorna and Carla by his side, there was always something happening to make our neighbourhood look pretty. Our littles loved the painted rocks and we made many drive bys just to see them and will continue to do so.

We know your hearts are breaking but please know you are in our thoughts and we hope you will continue to be part of the fabric of Terrence’s Pond. May he RIP

So sorry to hear about Eric’s passing. He was a friend as well as a co-worker. I had the same job in Burin, and had many opportunities to work and spend time with him.

He was a kind man who put his family above everything. When ever I asked about Carla, his face lit up

I will always remember and treasure the truck load of wood he cut for me when I was sick in 2003. He wouldn’t let me leave until we couldn’t get another piece in.

Please know that our prayers are with you at this difficult time. So sorry that I will not be there for the service due to illness.

I had an opportunity to converse with Eric many times over the past 5 years and i found him to be a “ shoot from the hip , no foolishness “ type of guy. We accomplished much working together and you could count on Eric to make things happen. He was very attentive to detail and responsible to one’s needs. He will be surely missed in the field. Although I didn’t know his family, may it comfort them to know at this difficult time, that others care.

Eric was incredibly generous with his time, it seemed that before the words were out of our mouths we needed a hand with something he was pulled up in our driveway at Terrances Pond and hauling tools out of his vehicle. My Sincere Condolences to Lorna, Carla & the Stephenson Family, I was shocked & saddened to hear off Erics passing.
There are a very select number of people that you meet in your life’s journey that have profound effect on your life, Eric was that type of person, a kind, thoughtful & generous individual that always made the day brighter. Most often our conversation started off with the usual ” Whatta At “. Both Eric & I became instant friends from the day we first met back in 1990 at NF Power in Clarenville & since that time shared many memories together over the years. Even as we moved further apart, we always managed to reach out to have a chat & a laugh!
Eric my friend, I will surely miss you, until we meet again. RIP! Dave & Roxann Laing

So very sorry to hear of Eric’s passing. Eric was the client rep for Bull Arm when I started there, very much new to the job and Site. He was very kind and generous with his time in getting me up to speed. Later, when my wife and I were going through a difficult pregnancy Eric just happened to stop in to Site to check on things. Him and I ended up having a half hour chat where he spoke about Bethany while also reassuring me about the expertise of the medical staff – it took a lot of worry away and I don’t know if I could thank him enough. Condolences Lorna, based only on the dozen or so interactions I had with Eric I can tell he has impacted many people and his presence will be greatly missed.

    Lorna & Family,
I know the passing of Eric is a huge loss for you and all the Stephenson (and Matthews) family. The many heartfelt tributes serve to highlight the esteem in which Eric was held by a wide spectrum of people – cementing something I already knew! May the Christian message and the wonderful memory of Eric’s love and well-lived years be a support to you as the days come and go. Although I was without audio during the entire service from the funeral chapel (but the keyboard preludes/hymns came through fine!), I prayed for you, all the while hoping I would discover a way to be more fully engaged. The Risen Lord will enable you to pick up the fragments that remain and to go forward each day in His abiding strength and presence.

    Lorna and family,
We are so saddened to hear of Eric’s passing. It came as quite a shock to us yesterday when we were told of his passing as we had not known he was ill. We think back with great fondness of our times in St. John’s while we would attend ‘young people’s’ many Sunday nights before we moved away. We are so sorry for your loss. As the songwriter says ‘Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand.’
