Elizabeth (Liz) Mary Hickey, age 83 of Terrenceville, Newfoundland was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. With profound sadness and broken hearts we announce her unexpected passing at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on May 9, 2021. Liz was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Liz was the devoted wife of 61 years to Jerry Hickey; beloved mother of Stan (Doris) Clarke, Margaret (Gilbert) Hynes and John (Debbie) Hickey; grandmother of Gail (Terrence) Hickey, Karen (Ivan) Labour, Jefferey Clarke, Gilbert Hynes, Sarah Clarke and Zachary Clarke; great grandmother of Jeremy Hickey and Bella Hickey. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters and brother-in-law Gladys and Bob Rueff and Rebecca Hickey as well as a large number of cherished nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by son Graham Hickey, daughter Mary Hickey and grandson Graham Clarke; parents Charles and Margaret Clarke; grandparents James and Julia Mitchell; sister Eva and brother-in-law Chester Popa; sisters and brothers-in-law Sarah Ann and John Fizzard, Mary Barger, Pat Hickey and Gustine Hickey. Our family extends our deepest gratitude to her homecare providers, Charlene and Shanna.
Liz will forever be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit. She made friends wherever she went. In her Honour be a little extra kind and spread love to those who need it the most. She loved and was loved beyond measure. To know her was to love her.
Cremation has taken place. Private family service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions.
No matter where in this world we are our love is always within our hearts forever and always.
