It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Donna Hancock on May 17, 2024, at the Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, NL. Donna leaves to mourn her loving husband, Sam, of 53 years, daughters Krista, Stephanie (Wayne Dawe), and Janelle (Michael Perritt), sister Lynda Parsons, and sisters-in-law Rosalind, Marina, Marilyn and Beverly, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Donna was a devoted care giver all her life. She graduated from nursing school in 1969 and practiced as a registered nurse at the Waterford Hospital until 2003. Upon her retirement from the hospital, she moved to Port Blandford, her childhood hometown, to build a house with her dear Sam. She decided to go back to work after her retirement and became a managing nurse at Total Care for many years until 2015.
Donna was a compassionate, generous, intelligent, and beautiful woman who loved her family more than anything in this world. She will be remembered for her awesome sense of humour, care for others, humility, and respect for animals, especially the many house pets she had over the years. Donna is loved dearly and will be missed every day.
She and her family appreciate the many doctors and nurses who provided her care since 2019.
At Donna’s request, no service will be held, and donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
