So many positive memories. He, like the now also sadly gone Craig Stoyles, was a social-glue person that attracted people to them because of the strength of their personalities. The nights (really mornings) at his house in the hours after The Country Lounge closed were legendary. Remember one night when there ended up being some people from the mainland who were working on the Hibernia Project came with us. What a time they had.

Doubt if he had any appreciation, or the rest of us at the time, about how rare and special those times were and they happened because he was who he was.

The incredible comments on Facebook about his passing show the person he was, the life he lived and the positive influence he had on so many of us. Rest well, you were one of the great ones.

The impact Dennis made on life for alot of us, especially when we were younger had to be the best therapy in the world, he was always so encouraging, and understanding and didn’t care what the topic was, or what he was doing, he would sit and talk, or have a laugh. It was impossible to pass him by anywhere without stopping for a yarn, and for some reason the day was so much better after. He is going to be missed greatly by so many. Rest easy Dennis.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Dennis’ passing. Still hard to believe..Gone too soon… Lennie always enjoyed the coffees he had with Dennis at Tim’s. The yarns they had..The drives they went on. He always spoke about the times he had when Dennis was bartending at The Country lounge..then Stingers. Some good laughs were had too..Kennedi still talks about your dog Tim. When Tim was still around you’d never see Dennis without him. Lots of memories to cherish. You will be missed Dennis… Our deepest condolences to the family.. Rest in peace Dennis..

I was shocked to hear the news of Dennis’s tragic passing. Deepest sympathies go out to family and friends. Another one of the buddies I grew up with gone to soon. I can enjoy life today because Dennis was instrumental in saving mine many years ago during an accident that I was involved in. For that and his lifetime of good deeds toward everyone he has certainly earned his wings. Will never forget you. ( Also thanks for the hundreds of rides home after closing time at the bar. )

I will forever miss our chats and I’m so glad we got a chance this summer to catch up even though it was only for a short period of time. I’ll always remember him giving his dog Max timbits at Tim Horton’s years ago. He had the biggest heart & was so kind. Rest in peace Dennis.
