David Edward (Coup) Hedges October 12, 1948 - March 14, 2024

Passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, March 14, 2024, David Edward (Coup) Hedges of Clarenville, age 75 years.  Predeceased by his parents Edward (Ned) and Annie Hedges.  Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 55 years, Pat; children Tracey (Dave) and Cindy (Dwight); grandson Kyle; sisters Barb (Harris), Roz (Doug) and Daphne (Scott); brothers Reg (Shirley), Bruce and Howie (Debbie); uncle Bob Hedges; sister-in-law Lynette (Wayne); brothers-in-law Bill (Joanne) and Bruce (Rhonda); and a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Coup had many lifelong friends, from his team mates in hockey and ball, to his co-workers on numerous job sites, even to people he may have met only once – he cherished each one.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and many trips to Labrador.  He had a generous heart and always a story to anyone who would listen.  Cheers to Coup, Happy Hour!

Cremation will take place.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation or act of kindness in his memory, would be appreciated by his family.

Pat, Tracey, Cindy and families, so so sorry about his passing. Coup was a big part of our family for many years, as all of you have been. He and dad have shared a lifetime of memories, from hunting, skidooing, fishing and many many games of cribbage and probably a drink or two.
