It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs.Catherine Paul of Come By Chance, announces her sudden, unexpected passing.
Catherine peacefully passed away at the Clarenville Hospital on June 9th, 2020 in the comfort and presence of her loving children. She was 91 years old.
Mrs. Paul was a woman who was deeply loved and cherished by all. She was a kind, beautiful soul who treasured the lords creatures (especially her pet crow Johnny). Mrs. Paul enjoyed the fresh air of the great outdoors – from berry picking, soaking in the sunshine on the stoop of the woodshed, to spending time at the family’s cabins over the years, she was a woman who never stopped going. She was always up for an adventure. She would never turn down the opportunity to be social with her many friends of the Come By Chance Seniors Recreation club. Being a social butterfly was in her nature – she always loved to welcome visitors into her home to share in their company and enjoy some of her delicious home baked goods. She loved to tease and always loved a good joke. It would be the rare occasion that upon visiting, you wouldn’t get a tea bag or a ball of dough thrown in your general direction. She loved to have fun and her home was filled with love and laughter over the years.
Catherine lived life to the fullest. She was a woman of strong faith in the Lord. She was the heart and Center of her community church and despite her age, she continued her readings of scripture and supported her church weekly. She brought many smiles and laughter to her congregation and she will be a dearly missed parishioner. It is without a doubt she will continue her worship of the Lord with you all in spirit. She will sing with the angels and look down on her family and friends from heaven. In her own words, it is likely she would like to tell her church friends to praise the Lord and to sing loudly for all to hear, “for the lord doesn’t care what you sound like”.
Pre-deceased by parents John and Charlotte Holden (Montague) of Glenview, NL.
Catherine goes with the Lord to join her devoted and loving husband, Albert Paul, her son Lyle, brothers Jackie, Tony, James Jeff and her sister Helen.
Leaving to mourn are her children Bill (Judy), Gayle (Joe) and Andre (Kathy). Sisters Margaret Gordon , Ruth Proctor and Dorothy Rogers. She also leaves to mourn her many grandchildren – Dayle (Francine), Joseph (Tracy), Crystal, Hope (Phonsie), William (Jade), Jasmine (Terrance) , Jessica (Brad) and Jenna (Kyle). Great Grand Children Madison, Cailob and Amber.
The family would like to thank the staff of Clarenville Hospital who were prompt and courteous in her care. They would also like to thank Dr.Nichols for assisting the family during this emotional time.
Donations in memorial of Mrs. Paul may be made to St.Paul’s Anglican/United Church of Come By Chance.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fewers Funeral Home of Clarenville.
A private family funeral will take place, followed by interment at Come By Chance cemetery on Saturday, June 13th, 2020.

If the Church doors were open Kitty was there, and if there was a special service anywhere in the parish you could depend on seeing her. She spread joy wherever she went.
