Squires, Bonita Emily – The Young Family is saddened to announce the passing of their mother, grandmother and great grandmother at the age of 80 at G. B. Memorial Cross Hospital, Clarenville after a courageous battle with cancer. Formerly of Port Blandford currently residing at Vera’s Villa Senior Centre, Musgravetown.
Predeceased by her husband, Gideon Squires, her parents Samuel and Marjorie Greening, her brothers Scott and Boyd, her sisters Belle, Gloria, Shirley and Pearl.
Left to mourn her loss are her five sons or “her boys” as she would proudly say; Woodrow (Sherry) Edmonton, Michael (Ena) Musgravetown, Peter (Port Blandford), Steven (Darlene) Bunyan’s Cove, Justin (Jill) Mississauga and their father, Hubert Young.
Her grandchildren who she was known as “Nanny Bonnie” Jessica Young, Alexis Young, Trevor Young (Giselle), Andy Young, Jonathan Young (Sinead), Sam Young, Aaron Young, Matthew (Jessica) Bates and Michele (Russ) Bates. Her great grandchildren Mason, Cole, Carter, Brynn and Brady. Her sister Sylvia Oldford, Port Blandford. Her sister-in-laws Denise Greening, Jean Milley, Dot Street , Doreen Brophy, Audrey Rowe and brother-in-law Charlie Squires. Also many nieces, nephews, family and friends of the Young, Greening, and Squires Family and all friends at Vera’s Villa over the last two years including her close friend Joan Keats.
Donations in her memory will be donated to the Musgravetown Fellowship Club where she loved to go and play cards.
A private family viewing will take place on Thursday, March 4, 2021 and a private cemetery service to follow on Friday March 5, 2021 by invitation only. Covid-19 restrictions will be in place.
We love you mom (Nanny Bonnie) and will miss you forever.
