Anthony Hickey May 6, 1954 - October 17, 2022

We regret to inform that Anthony Hickey has passed away on October 17, 2022 at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hosptial after an almost three year battle with cancer.

He is predeceased by his Father Henry Hickey, Mother Catherine Hickey (nee. Emberley), brother James Joseph Hickey and sister Maryann Emberley. Left with fond and loving memories is his partner and love of his life Joan, daughter Chantel, special nephew Gary; brothers Ambrose and John Thomas, sisters Nellie, Margaret, Jane, Judy, Emma, Jessie and Flossie and brother-in-law and godfather James and a large circle of family and friends.

A fisherman for fifty two years, he will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone in a time of need.

The family would like to thank his amazing care teams in both St. John’s and Clarenville with special thanks going to Dr. Rorke, Dr. Andrews, Dr. Kamran in St. John’s and Dr. Wee, Dr. Dawson and Dr. Furlong in Clarenville. A special thanks to nurse Angela Sheppard and the rest of the staff in the chemo clinic in Clarenville.

Visitation to take place at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, Southern Harbour from 10am – 2pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 with graveside service to follow at 2:30pm

    My condolences to all of Anthony’s family. May he Rest In Peace. Always enjoyed the lobsters he would give Dad when we would be over in the Davis Cove area fishing.
