Alonzo R. Dean January 20, 1949 - November 6, 2021

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Saturday, November 6, 2021 Alonzo Dean of Southport, aged 72 years. Predeceased by his parents William John and Laura Dean; brothers Jim, Lloyd, Eric, Allan; sister Delphine Simmons; sisters in law Ruby, Bonnie, Beatrice Dean. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Janet of 47 years; children Neil (Karen), Tony (Bonnie), Michael (Kayla); grandson Isaac; brother Gladstone (Linda); sisters Millicent Lambert (Hector), Frances Kelly (Lewis); sisters in law Meta Dean, Joyce Dean and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Little Heart’s Ease. Family visitations will take place on Sunday, November 7  from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM and on Monday, November 8 from 2-4 PM and 8:15-9 PM.  PUBLIC VISITATION will take place on Monday, November 8 from 6-8 PM.  Vax pass and ID will be mandatory for the PUBLIC visitation as per covid guidelines. Funeral Service will be 2 PM on Tuesday, November 9 at the United Church, Little Heart’s Ease with interment to follow at the Southport United Cemetery.  Due to large numbers of family and limited church seating, the Funeral Service is by invite only. Covid Rules will be followed.  There will be a funeral procession immediately following the church service to Alonzo’s wharf in Southport before going to the cemetery.

 

Funeral Service will be 2 PM on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the United Church, Little Heart's Ease with interment to follow at the Southport United Cemetery. Due to large numbers of family and limited seating, the Funeral Service is by invite only. Covid Rules will be followed.

    Aunt Janet , Michael, Tony and Neil I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Alzono was a kind and gentle man with a smile on his face every time I saw him. He is at peace now and can you just imagine what yarns and laughter he is having now with his family. Take comfort in his memory and know how much he loved you all . Sending love and hugs to you guys

He was such a great man to have conversations with and such a wonderful man so spend time around when I got the opportunity to do so when I lived home and when I visited back home.
