Allan Maxwell Brown June 15, 1950 - December 7, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of Allan Brown announce his passing at the age of 75. Allan leaves to mourn his devoted wife Phyllis of 55 years. His beloved daughter Kim and her partner Brad of Parrsboro, NS. His cherished son Scott and daughter in law Juliana of St. John’s and his three treasured grandchildren, Jessica, Nathan and Mackenzie who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Allan also leaves behind his loving mother C. L. Ruth of South River, his brother Wallace (Sonia), his sister Sharon (Paul) of by Roberts and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Elaine and Abdul of California. He will also be fondly remembered and missed by a large circle of nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

He is predeceased by his father Maxwell, his sister-in-law June and his brother-in-law Ernest and a large circle of friends who have passed before him.

Allan was happiest when surrounded by family, especially his 3 grandchildren, and at home in Clarenville where he enjoyed countless memories with those he loved. Some of his greatest joys came from travelling with Phyllis, exploring new places and sharing quiet moments together. A proud, loving and dedicated father, Allan’s presence was a steady source of strength and warmth for all who knew him.

As per Allans wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Allan’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion over the last number of years, and especially during the last two weeks.

Allan will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family, and the legacy of love he leaves behind. May he rest peacefully.

    Dear Phyllis, Scott, and Kim,

I am so very sorry to hear of Allan’s passing. He was such an important part of my life growing up – truly like a second dad to me. We spent so many weekends together in Clarenville, camping, and heading off on those spur-of-the-moment adventures that always turned into the best memories.

I’ll never forget the countless summer days I spent at the Holiday Inn pool while Allan was the manager there, or the stories of Phyllis and Allan’s trailer adventures, especially his legendary backing-up and parking skills. Those moments, and so many others, are memories I will always cherish. It always felt like we were one big family, and I’m so grateful for the time we shared.

Please know I’m holding you all in my heart. Sending my love to each of you during this difficult time.

With heartfelt sympathy, Krista Baldwin & Family

My Uncle Allan was the source of some of my most cherished childhood memories. Visiting him at the Holiday Inn was like stepping into a magical world – one where the staff would treat us to special snacks from the kitchen, a golden coin for unlimited Pac-Man games, and swimming in the pool long after closing time. Uncle Allan, I’ll always remember you as generous and fun loving. May you rest in peace. Much love, Christa.

Phyllis, Kim, Scott and family. I am sorry to hear of Allan’s passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. I enjoyed working many years under his management at the Discovery Hotel in Iqaluit until he retired. He was pleasant, a good Manager to his many staff over the years (and kind enough to let me go to my room Monday through Friday for half an hour to watch the Bold and the Beautiful without being interrupted by the phone lol). I’m sure he will be missed by many. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have known him personally….RIP Mr. Brown 🙏
