November 10, 2022 at 8:01 amSo sorry to hear of Aunt Freda’s passing. A beautiful lady inside and out. I will miss our chats and visits . She always had a smile and made everyone who visited her feel welcome. She loved her family so much. She always mentioned her family every time I visited, how good they were to her and how they took such good care of her. She was so fortunate to have a loving and caring family. I’m sure it’s a consolation today to her family to know that she’s with her loving Heavenly Father, their dad and other family members who have gone before her. She’s free of all pain now and singing with the angels. I’m so sorry I cannot be with you all at this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May the God of all comfort be with you today, and in the days ahead. Love and prayers. Alice (Joan) and family 🙏💕

November 9, 2022 at 12:59 pmMrs Carberry’s homegoning was no doubt a welcomed one and we would not want her back to the limits of her aged body.
Mrs Carberry will be missed but there was something very appropriate about her departure:
– She lived a full and completed live
– She had a love for God and her famly
– Her house was in order
Nothing is more certain than death and nothing is more uncertain than life.
Alvohn, Linda and Carberry family, we share in your loss, be assured of our prayers and thoughts at this time of condolence.
Mrs Alfreda Carberry was one of the finest lady that we ever met, full of life and humour.
The love for her family and the respect of the family was very evident, she will be missed but draw strength from the fond memories of the pass and no doubt there will be times of laugh when you reflect back on her humor.
Thinking of you and let God be your strength and guidence in coming days.

November 10, 2022 at 5:21 pmA little more than 30 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Carberry opened up their home to me. As one of the teachers in the school, they were the ones that taught me so much. Although Mrs. Carberry wasn’t sure if she would be able to let me stay the whole year, she said she’d give it a try. From the first night I stayed there, I knew how special she was. She did everything she could to make me feel welcome and we shared a wonderful year together exchanging stories about friends, family and life experiences. She made delicious apple pancakes for me , a tradition I passed on to my own children. Her and Mr. Carberry reminded me of a couple of young teens who were still in love as much as they were the day they met. Their love for each other was so beautiful. Luckily by chance, I ventured back to Burgoyne’s Cove this past summer and to my delight, I discovered that Mrs. Carberry was still there in the house I had stayed in so long ago. When I stepped inside, she didn’t recognize me right away after the many years that had passed but soon enough it was as if I had never left. Her warm and gentle ways and her quiet little laugh was as strong as ever. I told her then that she had left a permanent mark on me … she was a truly remarkable person. To the Carberry family, I send you my deepest condolences. Your mom, grandmother, great-mother was one in a million. Cherish each memory and know that she touched so many lives.

November 10, 2022 at 6:49 pmSending love and hugs to all who held her in their heart. Dear Aunt Freda, although I have not seen you in many years, I loved our regular phone visits. You always made me feel like I was the most special person in the world. And you always made time for those around you, even when you weren’t feeling well. Now it’s time for you to rest. I hope you’re sitting with your feet up, having a great catch-up chat with Mom. ❤️
