January 20, 2020 at 6:30 pmOh my. If I had known that December 26th would have been the last time I would see Oakley I would have stopped to have a chat. He was always up for a chat. I made a good many trips from the house upto the stage where he and Earle would be out there with the fire in mending nets or building lobster pots. Rest easy sir.

January 22, 2020 at 2:51 pmTo Elsie and the Johnson Family
Ralph and I send our condolences. I have only known you for a few years but long enough to know that yours was a special relationship and that Oakley was a person well thought of in his community.. Ever since his passing, Ralph has been reminiscing about the many years that he and Gloria, you and Oakley were really good friends and he is so happy to have visited him at the HSC while he was still able to recognize and talk to him!
We like to think of him fellowshipping with Gloria, his grandson Nathan, and other family members in a beautiful place where there is no more pain or suffering!
We may not make it out to the funeral, but will certainly be calling on you on our next visit to North Harbour.
I’m sure he’ll be missed by Earl as well. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you during this time of grief.
