I will miss you Winnie, and all our conversations over tea, with Luis pouring. From you I learned so much about the spirit of this place, of all those who have loved it and never left. I hope to still see you around English Harbour from time to time.

I met Winnie at the English Harbour Arts Centre, in 2011, I believe. Her terrific laughter, her love of Harbour, her indomitable spirit, her wit: I will remember these. My sincere condolences to Luis.

We have lost a true unique individual with Winnie’s passing. She was an independent member of the Engllsh Harbour scene and loved her life there. Our family benefited from her skills with uphostery , as a source of tools to borrow, toys for our children to use, and countless cups of tea and biscuits. We have missed her.
Our condolences to Luis, her faithful companion over many years in the house on the hill in the Harbour.

Leah & family, so very sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. Treasure the wonderful memories you’ve had over the years. Take pride in all you’re done to keep your mom and dad healthy and safe, despite the roadblocks that you were often faced in doing that. Your Mom now is at peace but has instilled in you some of her wonderful, albeit, at times challenging traits of determination and feistiness that carried her throughout her life and will do the same for you. Thinking of you and your family at this time. Take care.
